Sewing Workshop Retreat - “TRAD” Bodice from Tutu Studio Borealis (Intermediate+)

In this workshop, participants will be taught sewing skills to construct a traditional tutu using the Tutu Studio Borealis bodice pattern and Sugar Plum Performance Tutus formula for a hand-tacked and hooped 11-layer tutu skirt. All materials for hand tacking and hooping your tutu will be supplied.

Workshop structure:

- traditional bodice masterclass (1.5 days)

- traditional skirt masterclass (2.0 days)

- bodice and plate embellishment (1.5 days)

All participants will receive a pattern and detailed instructions from our friends at Tutu Studio Borealis. A comprehensive materials and equipment list with suggested suppliers will be provided well in advance.

Workshops are delivered in a small group format by Melissa from Sugar Plum Performance Tutus. Melissa has many years' experience sewing, costuming, tutu making and teaching sewing classes. She is passionate about classical ballet costumes!

This workshop is a little special as it will be taught as a residential retreat at the stunning Craftaways accommodation on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria: www.craftaways.com.au.

The workshop fee includes catering for the main evening meal, tea/coffee and morning/afternoon tea. Additional places will be available for attendees who live locally and do not want/need to stay (save $700).

The full workshop fee for 5 night stay/5 days tuition is $1,950. You will be required to pay $150 to book your place (non refundable). The accommodation and catering fee ($700 single/$400 twin share) will be payable 7 days prior and the final balance of $1,100 is due on arrival.
