Sewing Workshop - "WATERFALL PLATE" from Tutu Amor (Intermediate+)

The “WATERFALL PLATE" pattern by Tutu Amor is a pleated, layered petal plate that is ombre dyed/sprayed to create a very distinctive tutu design.

In this workshop, participants will be taught the Sugar Plum Performance Tutus formula for a hand-tacked pancake tutu skirt, and the Tutu Amor method for adding a pleated WATERFALL PLATE to the top layers. All materials for hand tacking and hooping your tutu will be supplied.

This workshop is best suited to sewists with previous experience in tutu making as participants will be required to construct their tutu bodice (embellishment is optional) and prepare their skirt layers prior to arrival at the workshop. The workshop will focus on skirt construction (including hooping and hand tacking) and the waterfall plate design.

Participants will receive the WATERFALL PLATE pattern in all hip sizes ($80 RRP) and detailed instructions from our friend Robin at Tutu Amor. Melissa will simplify the detailed instructions (45 pages) and demonstrate each step for visual learners. Participants may film these demonstrations for their own reference.

Workshops are delivered in a small group format (max 6) by Melissa from Sugar Plum Performance Tutus. Melissa has many years' experience sewing, costuming, tutu making and teaching sewing classes. She is passionate about classical ballet costumes!

Full workshop fee for 3 days is $950. Pay $200 to book, and the balance 7 days prior.
