6. Fancy Tulles & Lace

European 'fancy' tulles feature metallic gold, silver and iridescent threads or glitter to catch the light. They can be gathered or pleated with stiff nylon net to create accents through the tutu skirt, or used as elements of a plate for embellishment.

Both styles of embroidered lace have a floral design and metallic thread or sequins that will glisten and shine under lights. The scalloped edge (on both sides!) makes it ideal to use as a gathered top layer on a romantic skirt or stiff pancake tutu. Alternatively, you could cut it into strips and gather it to create a multi-tiered ruffled plate for Spanish choreography.
