Welcome to Sugar Plum Tutu Supplies

It was not my intention to create an online store, but with Kat's Tutu Supplies no longer taking orders, and tutu planning for the 2025 season well underway, something had to be done!

My name is Melissa and I am crazy about tutus. I love designing them, creating them, attending tutu workshops to learn new skills, and organising retreats with my 'glitter fairy' friends to indulge in our passion.

When you are learning to make quality tutus the experts say that you MUST buy top quality stiff nylon net. There is no question that ZAN supplies the best quality net on the Australian market, but not everyone can afford to buy 50M wholesale bolts. I have created Sugar Plum Tutu Supplies to supply ZAN net and tulle by the metre, exclusively. I have no grand plans to do anything more than that. There are other fabulous businesses supplying fabric, notions, lace and embellishments for tutu making.

I will do my best to provide the same quality service that we have always enjoyed from Kat's. This new venture has gone from silly idea to fully operational business in a matter of days, so please be patient if there are a few glitches to begin with. I was going to delay opening until I return from my holidays mid December, but many of you have told me that you are desperate for net. So, I will get at least one order out before I leave on 30 November, and one more before the Christmas/New Year period

As you browse the online store you may notice that things look a little different. I have used net colour names and numbers from ZAN, which are a little different to Kat’s, but we will all adjust in no time. I have organised the ZAN range into a series of collections. The Vintage and Pastel Collections have been released, with the Classic and Contemporary Collections to follow once the cash starts to flow. Products from these collections will appear as Sold Out for now. If you are in desperate need of a colour from the Vintage or Contemporary collections PLEASE reach out.

Pricing is based on a sliding scale, with a slightly higher base rate (nowhere near $4.95, so don't panic!) and discounts on orders over 5M. Shipping costs are what you would expect for Standard and Express parcels with Australia Post. Orders will operate on a weekly cycle, opening Thursday and closing Wednesday to fit with my work/study schedule. Local pick up is immediately available from the Sugar Plum Tutus studio in Tarrawingee (Wangaratta). Ballarat pick-up will be available from late January 2025.

The most exciting thing about this new online store is that I have matched net colours with Italian Linel colours from Shine Trimmings & Fabrics. So, if you have chosen your stretch bodice colour and need to find matching net(s), just search on the Italian Linel colour name and the matching net colours will pop up like magic (you're welcome!). I have also created four colour gradients that can be purchased in a 12M bundle for a single tutu, or 20M and 40M packs to fill your shelves with inspirational colours.
